According to the 1999 census, it was the place of employment of more people than any other single arrondissement of the capital. The 8th arrondissement is, together with the 1st, 9th, 16th and 17th arrondissements, one of Paris' main business districts. The arrondissement, called Élysée, is situated on the right bank of the River Seine and centered on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. In spoken French, the arrondissement is colloquially referred to as le huitième ("the eighth"). Each time I find somewhere better than a place on the current list, one of them gets bumped off the ladder in order to keep it current. This list always displays my Top 10 favourite addresses. You don’t need to spend a fortune in this city to eat amazing food- you just need to know where to go! Most places offer a ‘formule’ or set menu of excellent value where you can enjoy 2 -3 courses for around half the price of what it costs at dinner. If you are visiting Paris, the trick is to do LUNCHES. What I love most is discovering restaurants in Paris that offer excellent, refined, inventive and quality food at competitive prices. Since it’s not really my intention to do restaurant reviews, but I’m often asked for suggestions and recommendations on good addresses and places to eat in Paris, I have decided to add this page. ![]()
